    Description

This auction consists of one vintage B&W photograph showing a firefighting vehicle used in a Fire Prevention Parade in Dayton Ohio in 1949. THIS IS NOT A REPRODUCTION. This is and old & original 4x5 photo from a large collection that has been featured on a few web sites about vintage fire fighting apparatus and equipment.
From the dates on the license plates this parade was held in 1949 and proceeded down Main St. in Dayton too the Montgomery County Fairgrounds where they held
fire fighting and life saving demonstrations. Though it was held in the evening hours, a
number of Dayton landmarks can be seen in the photo's including Memorial Hall, Lowes Theatre, the old Sears building and many more. Most of the Fire Departments from Montgomery County entered trucks or vehicles in the parade.
THE PHOTO IN THIS AUCTION SHOWS
    - the Butler Township Fire Truck
. Identified on the door and on top/back of truck. You can see the old Sears Building in the background with the doomed roof Memorial Hall to the right of it. Also part of the Harrison Twp. truck at far left center.
