The connector is a 9 pin serial RS-232. It will mate to any 9 pin serial connection.

The optical sensor has a spot-size resolution that allows bar-code widths as small as 0.3 mm (0.012 in) to be read reliably. This resolution is ideal for dot-matrix printed bar codes. A
lthough the HEDS-3000 is primarily intended for black- and-white patterns
