  • Condition: The 3" glass paperweight is in great condition, with no chips, cracks, showing only very minor signs of age and wear to the glass, along with some wear to the green felt on the bottom, but felt is fully attached with no holes or damage. Overall, there is some mild signs of age and wear, but the paperweight makes a great presentation piece.

    Description

    Up for auction/sale is a vintage White Mountains "Old Man of the Mountain", Franconia NH glass paperweight. I tried to date this piece, but there are no manufacturers marks on the glass or insert, and I found no other examples, but I'd suspect 1940s/1950s.
    Sadly, after many attempts to repair/save the "Old Man" the rock formation collapsed in May of 2003, but the area is still respected and honored as a memorial. To learn more, you can cut and paste the following link:
