For your consideration, this stylish Italian vintage button card from Sandra b, originally used as a salesman's sample to present the various buttons on offer from the manufacturer. The laminated card features an assortment of sizes and colors available for the button design; the buttons are mounted on a printed and laminated image of the Haute Couture fashion of the day, using the buttons highlighted on the card.
The design and style of buttons on this card are intensely colorful pastels and the buttons are
diamond positioned on the card.
The collection is complete with 18 buttons. The card measures about 9” x 12”.
Excellent vintage and pre-owned condition.

I originally purchase this card to make can make button jewelry and sew on purses and altered neckties. Certainly, I would love to still; however, my dominant hand and arm have become paralyzed from nerve damage. Personally, my favorite buttons are manufactured in Italy. They are so colorful, textured, and brilliantly designed. My favorite era of production is the 1990s because it was such an experimental time and the manufacturers in Italy spared no expense for creativity in design. This is when the design under plastic process was perfected - but it was too expensive to maintain and most of those facilities are now closed.
Sample cards are a type of visual/tactile catalog and were used by the vendors/representatives, to show the various products that were available for the business owner to order & offer to their customers. Originally, they would have been pages, held in a binder.
JHB International (Denver, Colorado) was founded in 1969, by Jean Howard Barr. In 2009 she died and her son Jay, then took over the business. In 2014, the company was sold to Blumenthal Lansing Co.
